Deborah A. Forte is Executive Vice President of Scholastic Inc. and President of Scholastic Media, and serves as the organization’s lead business and creative head. She is an innovator and an award winning producer, developer, and designer of multi-platform content that meets the needs of children and families – including book based software, applications, television, film and websites. Ms. Forte is leading the team that created Storia®, Scholastic’s new eReading platform and eBooks system.
Ms. Forte founded Scholastic Media, the only full-scale digital production, branding and merchandising division in the children’s publishing industry that successfully develops and markets children’s software and content globally. In addition to Storia, her many successful productions include Clifford The Big Red Dog, The Magic School Bus, I SPY, Goosebumps and The Golden Compass. Her software and productions have been distributed in over 60 countries and have won hundreds of awards including Emmys, the Humanitas Prize, Peabodys and an Oscar.
Ms. Forte is a founding member of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and on the board of the American Center for Children and Media.
